Meetings around board games to create bonds

Sarah Baghdadi and Caroline Bertorello are two board game enthusiasts. Bearing in mind that other municipalities in the territory had their association dedicated to this leisure activity, but not Villeneuve, they created Villeneuve Lez Jeux which, once a month, will organize a meeting to “Play together”, open to everyone, from children to seniors, beginners or experienced. Board games of all kinds, modern ones like Pertatette, Pandemic…

But also traditional ones: belote, tarot, Scrabble®, chess, individual or collective, educational, competitive, collaborative, semi-cooperative… Games where it is no longer just about winning or losing, but that call for reflection, strategy, mutual help, chance, but also sometimes in…

First meeting this Sunday, October 9

Games derived from television series, complementary to computer games, some illustrated by renowned designers, with multiple interpretations, others “of which you are the hero”, in which there is no winner but where everyone lives an adventure. The meetings are supervised by Caroline and Sarah to start, explain the rules to the novices. The two young women were present at the association day and their project aroused great enthusiasm, both among inveterate players and among neophytes.

For the first few meetings, Sarah and Caroline will provide their own games.

Little by little, it is desired to acquire some for the association, the long-term objective being to offer the services of a toy library. That yes, they are on the lookout for novelties and, in addition, they go every year to the Salon des jeux de société, in Cannes.

The first meeting will take place on Sunday, October 9, at Salle Frédéric-Mistral, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The next meeting will take place in the auditorium on Friday, November 18, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sarah and Caroline will also give a workshop during the Polar festival, determined to include their activity in the events of the municipality or within other associations (Téléthon , AGV, The Spring…).

To participate in these meetings, there is no reservation at the moment. You just have to join the association (decreasing rates for families), or pay the amount of €3 per person for the session. “Only Restriction”, Sarah says, don’t cheat, unless it is foreseen in the rules of the game” !
