Monument to children’s games in Paca: a weekend of activities and games on October 22 and 23

Palaces, castles, archaeological sites and abbeys, the National Monuments Center (CMN) offers an exceptional national program for this new edition of Monument jeu d’enfant.

For two days there will be activities for children from 5 to 12 years old and their families:

  • contemporary dance ;
  • Theater displays;
  • introduction to sculpture and drawing;
  • sewing and embroidery workshops;
  • digital painting and drawing;
  • Lego building workshops;
  • unusual treasure hunts;
  • etc.

Come meet architect Le Corbusier and designer Eileen Gray. An invitation to travel through the history of the architectural works present on the Cap Moderne site.

An “archi-creative” weekend for two days:

Saturday, October 22, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Lego® workshops by Bricks4Kidz: on the esplanade in front of the Cap Moderne hangar (reception-exhibition area). Children will have individual Lego® cases at their disposal and will be able to make a 2D or 3D model of Villa E-1027 by Eileen Gray or Le Cabanon by Le Corbusier.

Sunday, October 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Street Art workshops led by the artist Florence Fabris. Children will create their own artwork on the subject of architecture, design and the environment.

Le Corbusier’s site and Villa E-1027 can be visited as a family.

Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October 2022 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Immerse yourself in the heart of the Middle Ages and come to discover the different trades that were involved in the construction of the Cloister of the Fréjus Cathedral. The workshops are planned around the frame, the stone cutting and the making of the painted ceilings.

The association Les Médiévales des Arcs will present the different stages of the realization of the ceilings and will recreate the decorations of the fantastic bestiary around a reconstituted painter’s workshop.

You will also be welcomed in the cloister by a “medieval” master baker who will cook old-fashioned dough pieces and tasty cookies in his wood-fired oven!

Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

You will live a unique family moment in an ancient city at the gates of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. He participates in construction workshops (3D model, TECHNIC model) and takes on the proposed challenges: tank races, launching catapults, making a LEGO®️ model, etc.

The models on offer: twin temples, famous comic characters, Arc de Triomphe, motorized tanks and other surprises. Duration: 2.5 hours

Solve puzzles, overcome obstacles and discover the secrets of the abbey’s construction. On program: mechanisms to shoot, trunks to unlock, speed race, visual measurements, manipulation of tools and other thinking games…

Augustus Trophy at La Turbie

The Augustus Trophy or Trophy of the Alps is an exceptional historical monument dating from the year VI BC. It was built in honor of Octave, Caesar’s nephew and future Roman Emperor Augustus.

Show and ancient sports workshop at 2 pm: “The myths of the stadium”: historical and humorous show by Cie Acta. This Roman comedy offers a humorous discovery of ancient sports practices. A fun and educational traveling show for young and old!

Workshop “Olympic Games” at 3:00 p.m. : children will be able to learn about the historical sports of ancient times: dumbbell jumping, discus, arms race. Thus they will discover the practice of the ancient Olympic Games, but also the daily life of the Gallo-Roman world. A unique experience in the skin of former athletes.
