Tite summons 26 players to his list for Qatar

Coach Tite announced at a press conference on Monday afternoon the list of 26 players called up to play the 2022 Qatar World Cup (November 20 – December 18) with Brazil. Although the Seleção is among the favorites of the competition, the Auriverde will be able to count on a group made up in particular of various executives such as PSG players, Neymar and Marquinhos but also Thiago Silva, Vinicius or Casemiro. There is no real surprise in the selection of the 61-year-old coach who has already confirmed that he will step down after the World Cup.

What’s next after this announcement?

“My nights are restless, I kick my wife, sometimes I wake up at 4 am, the adrenaline is full”Tite said during an interview broadcast Sunday night on the national channel TV Globo. In this interview, he also promised to release an expanded list of 26 players, so as not to leave out some deserving and fundamental contenders for the selection: “I am a humanist. There is the athlete, but first there is the man, the son, the father, the human being who must be respected.. As a reminder, Brazil will face Switzerland, Cameroon and Serbia in Group G and enter the tournament against Dragan Stojković’s players on November 24 at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.

The Brazilian cages, as expected, will be guarded by Alisson (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City) and Weverthon (Palmeiras). In the defensive line, the Seleção will probably field the former Parisian duo with Thiago Silva (Chelsea), captain, and Marquinhos (PSG) in their starting eleven. Eder Militão (Real Madrid) will play the role of luxury joker. The fourth and final central defender ticket was left undetermined and was eventually offered to Gleison Bremer (Juventus). The work in the defensive corridors will be carried out by Danilo (Juventus), on the left, and Alex Sandro (Juventus), on the right, assisted respectively by Alex Telles (Sevilla) and Dani Alves (Pumas).

In midfield, unsurprisingly, we find a Premier League trio with Casemiro, Fred (Man United) and Lucas Paqueta (West Ham). In support, Tite can count on Fabinho (Liverpool), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle) and Everton Ribeiro (Flamengo), fresh champion of the Copa Libertadores. The real construction site was in attack, where the coach has called up 30 players in the last four years. In Qatar, there will be nine to represent their country: Neymar (PSG), Vinicius (Real), Raphinha (Barcelona), Richarlison (Tottenham), Antony (Man United), Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Rodrygo (Real Madrid) and Pedro (Flemish). The last striker to complete the list is none other than Martinelli (Arsenal).
